General Manager
West Coast
The General Manager is responsible for the effective planning, directing and coordination of all functions for Operations, Plant Services (Maintenance and Facilities), Supply Chain, Human Resources, Finance, and Sales.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the staff to assure the timely delivery of quality products to our customers while maximizing the profitability of the plant operations
- Full P&L responsibilities for Sales, Manufacturing Operations, Process and Product Engineering, Quality Control, Production Control, Maintenance, Human Resources
- Provide direction, leadership and technical expertise to the plant to maximize operating efficiency
- Encourage a continuous improvement culture where operational efficiencies are constantly evolving
- Monitor and review performance of direct reports, and provide prompt and objective coaching, mentoring and counseling. Resolve performance, job satisfaction, and interpersonal issues, balancing employee and department needs
- Provides strategic leadership to ensure lean manufacturing principles
- Establish performance targets and develop and lead team(s) to achieve these targets
- Monitor the flow of production and develop strategies to improve quality and overall flow
- Research and implement technologies to ensure production and product quality improvement
- Manage and further develop internal training programs to accomplish the company goals and objectives
- Responsible for recommending and implementing capital requirements, new manufacturing operations and methods, special projects or programs designed to increase productivity, reduce costs or improve quality
- Report financials on a quarterly basis to the Division President
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required
- MBA Preferred
- 5+ plus years’ experience as a General Manager or BU Manager
- Will consider a strong Plant Manager with extensive experience related to this position
- Must come from either a heavy industrial manufacturing or oil & gas industry
- Experience running a manufacturing facility with full P&L responsibility
- Comprehensive understanding of business operations and manufacturing metrics, costing and pricing
